Bachelor Degree in Early Childhood Education

The Early Childhood Program supports learning about young children ages birth through third grade through non-certification degree programs. The undergraduate program requires a minimum of 120 semester hours to complete, and 45 advanced credits hours are required for degree.

Bachelor of Science in Child Development

The degree plan prepares professionals to work with young children ages birth to six and their families across a wide variety of settings that include the classroom and communities.  The Bachelor of Science in Child Development provides Head Start Teachers,* Home Visitors, Child Welfare Workers, Parent Educators, Early Childhood Center Directors and other professionals focused coursework on how children grow and learn. Additionally, working with families and advocating for the welfare of the child and family are essential strands associated with this degree. As a Bachelor of Science Degree, graduates are well positioned to pursue a Master degree in the future.

Bachelor of Applied Arts & Sciences- Early Childhood Education Concentration (non-certification)

The Early Childhood Education Concentration (non-certification) degree plan is ideal for current and prospective caregivers or early childhood professionals who wish to learn more about working with young children ages birth to Eight and their families. As a Bachelor of Applied Arts & Sciences, this option may be the degree of choice for someone who has earned their associate’s degree at a community college or who will not be pursuing an advanced degree after graduation.
