Institute for Autism and Related Disorders
A&M-SA Institute for Autism and Related Disorders (IARD) will be a premier research institute focused on developing appropriate assessment methods, educational strategies, behavioral interventions, and transition services for individuals with autism and related disorders. The IARD operates Autism Lifeline Links, a collaboration with agencies in Bexar County that work to provide a continuum of care to families and individuals with autism and Intellectual Developmental Disabilities (IDD). The institute will serve as the inspiration of service for individuals with autism and related disorders by working collaboratively and transparently to improve the opportunities and outcomes for them and their families.
Educare-San Antonio
Educare San Antonio is a state-of-the art early child development school that will enhance the future of our youngest learners, ages six weeks through kindergarten. Educare San Antonio will address the extreme childcare desert in South Bexar County, offer high-quality childcare to families living or working in Bexar County, support other childcare centers city and statewide as they enhance the quality of services they offer: and, strengthen the San Antonio workforce. Educare is a national model that originated in Chicago and is based on proven practices. There are currently 25 Educare Centers throughout the United States and Educare San Antonio will be the 26th. Educare San Antonio will be the first Educare in Texas and largest in the nation.
