Who We Are - La Familia

Texas A&M University-San Antonio's Parent Outreach and Engagement Department coordinates outreach initiatives including La Familia Parent Workshops, Info Sessions and more, which is an innovative component of the University's overall goal to support our ASPIRE network and South Bexar County. Parent Outreach and Engagement aims to engage families through college-going activities, parent workshops and family events. We are committed to breaking down barriers, creating access to quality education and involving the entire family in the student’s journey towards higher education.

Parent Nights

Our parent outreach team is dedicated to fostering a college-going culture in your community. We'd love to collaborate with you by attending your high school's parent nights, providing valuable resources and support to help families navigate the path to higher education. Our scheduling operates depending on our team’s availability and inquiries from ASPIRE high schools are prioritized.

Webinar Series

Our mission is to keep parents informed and supported throughout the college process. We're excited to offer a series of online information sessions, providing convenient access to valuable insights and expert guidance from anywhere in San Antonio!

Our Impact

As of May 2024, a total of 371 parents have graduated and completed this program earning their students a scholarship. La Familia program has awarded a total of $313,000 in scholarships.
