The San Antonio Pro Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists awarded scholarships to four of the leading student journalists from the South Texas region.

Communication seniors  Brigid Cooley  and  Brittany Pichler  are two of four local recipients celebrating their tuition scholarships

SPJSA awards scholarships annually to outstanding student journalists. The main source of scholarship funds is the Gridiron Show, a musical comedy that spoofs newsmakers and events. Gridiron has raised tens of thousands of dollars during recent years. The status of the 2020 version of Gridiron is still undetermined in light of the pandemic.
