Toyota and TAMU-SA: together on teaching

At a July 24 ceremony, Texas A&M-San Antonio and Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Texas, Inc. (TMMTX) presented a special scholarship in support of the study of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). Thomas Seabers of East Central High School is only the second student to ever receive a check for $25,000 from this prestigious program based on his intentions to become a math teacher and his outstanding application. Read more about Thomas and the Toyota Texas Teachers Scholarship on our website or The Rivard Report.

Money talks

Dr. Kate Gillen, assistant professor in the College of Arts & Sciences, will have an article published in the 2014 issue of Shakespeare Jahrbuch (Yearbook), an annual, peer reviewed journal published by the German Shakespeare Society. Titled, "'What he speaks is all in debt': Credit, Representation, and Theatrical Critique in Timon of Athens," the article is dedicated to the relationship of money and power in Shakespeare's works.

TAMU-SA's Picasso exhibit designs continue to gain acclaim

Texas A&M-San Antonio's beautiful invitation to the "Picasso, Amigos y Contemporaneos" gala was again recognized for outstanding design. In addition to regional awards presented in May 2013, the Printing & Imaging Association of Mid-America recognized the invitation with Best of Central Texas and a Silver in Best of Division 1 out of five states. Designed by Cesar Proa, the invitation was created in collaboration with Texas A&M-San Antonio, the Picasso Gala planning committee, Kell Muñoz, and local printer/designers AccuPrint.
