Dear Members of the A&M-San Antonio Community:
My family has been involved with several organizations for much of my life. My parents volunteered for animal rescue groups and fostered dogs in our home. My husband has supported the Special Operations Warrior Foundation, Charity Code 085111 since his days in the U.S. Army. When I started working at A&M-SA, I found these organizations that my family had long supported on the SECC list. Signing up for SECC is easy, and the monthly contributions allow me to support the organizations that are important to my family and me. Plus, it feels good to help A&M-SA meet its giving goals!
The annual Lip Sync Battle and Costume Contest are back on October 31 at noon in the Auditorium. This event is open to all faculty, staff and students who are interested in participating or who want to enjoy the show in the audience. The entry fee for each person is $5 (participants and spectators), with all proceeds going to the SECC. If you have already made at least your minimum ($36 for hourly or $72 salary) donation to SECC, your entry is FREE. Visit the website to learn more about entering and how to win each of the contests. Registration closes October 27.
The 2017 SECC will run through October 31 and we hope you will consider making a charitable contribution to a cause you feel passion about. You may make gifts directly from your paycheck to the organization(s) of your choice. The University's 2017 goals are 40% participation with $20,000 in contributions.
To make a gift, visit https://sso.tamus.edu and select SECC Enrollment, then the recipient(s) and the amount of your contribution(s). A "Charity Search" tab is available to help locate the right charity/charities for you.
The first 100 people to sign up will receive a free food voucher! If you have made a gift, visit Anthony Medina in Central Academic Building, Room 411C on October 12 from 8 A.M.-noon or October 16 from 1-5 P.M. to pick up your voucher.
You could be entered into the Final Drawing, Leadership Gift Drawing or both if you meet the drawing requirements below.
Following are the minimum donation requirements to qualify for entry in the drawings:
- Hourly employees - $3/month or $36/year
- Salary employees - $6/month or $72/year
- Leadership Gift Drawing - $1,000 or more annual gift
- Final Drawing - you receive one entry in the drawing if you make at least the minimum contribution by October 31. The drawing will be held on November 2, 2017.
- Leadership Gift Drawing - you receive one entry in the drawing if you make at least a $1,000 annual gift minimum contribution by October 31. The drawing will be held on November 2, 2017.
- 1 Six Flags Fiesta Texas gift basket (four tickets and cool swag) ($350 value each)
- 1 pair of lower-level tickets and VIP parking to an upcoming Spurs game in November ($275 value)
- 2 rounds of golf at Republic Golf Course ($70 value each)
- 5 - $10 Chartwells dining gift cards
- 1 two-night stays at JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort & Spa ($600 value)
