Dear Members of the A&M-San Antonio Community:
The influenza (flu) virus can be spread easily from person to person. Although we have not had many cases of flu on our campus, we are taking proactive steps to prevent the spread of it.
A&M-San Antonio is working closely with the Baptist Health System to monitor flu conditions and make decisions about the best steps to take concerning our institution. We will keep you updated with new information as it becomes available to us.
There are four simple steps you can take to reduce your chances of getting -- or spreading -- the flu:
Talk with your health care provider about getting vaccinated for seasonal flu.
Practice good hand hygiene by washing your hands with soap and water, especially after coughing or sneezing. Alcohol-based hand-rubs are useful.
Practice respiratory etiquette by covering your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough or sneeze. If you don't have a tissue, cough or sneeze into your elbow or shoulder, not into your hands. Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth; germs are spread this way.
Stay home if you're sick. If you have a fever, please do not go to work or class.

Thank you for your help in keeping our campus community healthy!
