Remembering the Victims of Last Week's Violence

Dear Members of the A&M-San Antonio Community:

We are deeply saddened by the senseless violence and loss of life that took place in Jeffersontown, KY and Pittsburgh, PA last week. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the victims, survivors and their family members. In remembrance of the victims of this violence, our flag will fly at half-staff until sunset on October 31.

Amid so much suffering, we are grateful for the first responders on the scenes of these tragedies, and all the brave men and women whose selfless service protects us every day.

I am proud that the A&M-SA environment is one that nurtures diversity of thought, mutual respect and civil discourse. Following events such as these recent tragedies, it is more important than ever that our campus community remains vigilant in upholding these values.
