Commencement Speakers, Milestone Will Top Off a Great Semester
Dear Members of the A&M-San Antonio Community:
As we put the finishing touches on another semester, I want to thank you for your hard work this fall. You have invested many hours and made numerous sacrifices on behalf of our students and each other, and for that I'm extremely grateful.
I hope you're planning to attend Fall Commencement on Tuesday, as your schedules allow. The ceremony will kick off at 3:30 p.m. at Freeman Coliseum. We have two guest speakers with amazing track records of leadership in business, education and philanthropy: Cecilia Abbott, Texas First Lady, and Elaine Mendoza, vice chairman of the Texas A&M University System's Board of Regents.
In addition, by the time the graduates have crossed the stage on Tuesday, A&M-SA will have graduated our 10,000th student since becoming a standalone university in 2009. Our two guest speakers and this historic milestone will be a fitting way to top off a great semester, as our University prepares to celebrate our 10-Year Anniversary in 2019.
I look forward to seeing you at Commencement on Tuesday.
Dr. Cynthia Teniente-Matson
President
