A&M-San Antonio announces faculty tenure and promotion for 2020

SAN ANTONIO – Texas A&M University-San Antonio has announced the tenure and promotion of eight faculty members, effective next fall.  

“In this time of uncertainty, it is important to recognize the hard work and dedication of the A&M-San Antonio faculty, not only for their expertise in teaching, service and scholarly activities but also for their dedication and commitment to our students’ continued learning and success,” said Mike O’Brien, provost.

The University has migrated its course delivery online in response to the pandemic. For the upcoming fall semester, the University has announced it will create innovative block courses for entering freshmen and will also continue online course delivery for the majority of the curriculum.

Tenure and promotion from assistant professor to associate professor for the College of Arts and Sciences were granted to Dr. Katherine Bridgman (Language, Literature and Arts); Dr. James Finley (Language, Literature and Arts); Dr. Scott Gage (Language, Literature and Arts); Dr. Ho Huynh (Science and Mathematics); Dr. Robert Page (Science and Mathematics); and Dr. Robert Simpson (Social Sciences). 

Tenure and promotion from assistant professor to associate professor for the College of Business was granted to Dr. Izzat Alsmadi (Computing and Cybersecurity).

Tenure and promotion from assistant professor to associate professor for the College of Education and Human Development was granted to Dr. Young Rae Kim (Curriculum and Instruction).
