A&M-San Antonio Students Showcase Their Research at Virtual Symposium, April 16

WHAT:Texas A&M University-San Antonio is hosting a full day of student research presentations via Zoom; also featured is keynote speaker Branson Brockschmidt, Research Engineer at Southwest Research Institute, on “How Recent Advancements Allow Robots to Perform Complex Tasks.” 

WHEN: Friday, Apr. 16, from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

BACKGROUND: During the past three years more than 300 graduate and undergraduate A&M-San Antonio students have represented the Colleges of Arts and Sciences, Business, and Education and Human Development with oral and poster presentations showcasing their research and discovery. The Student Research Symposium not only encourages undergraduate research and provides students the opportunity to share their knowledge, but it also allows them to network with others in select fields and learn how to apply for graduate and doctoral programs.

Among the more than 20 topics featured at this symposium are presentations on:

·         How fictional pandemics reflect a real-life understanding of the science of illness

·         Increasing public access to holistic wellness through social media

·         Special education in the time of COVID-19

·         Nanotechnology-mediated bee venom: applications in rheumatoid arthritis
