Continuing Students

Sophomores

On-campus sophomores persisted at higher rates than those who lived off campus with or without their families. In addition, sophomores who lived more than 10 minutes away from campus were the least likely to persist. This benefit applies to on-campus sophomores in general and is not conditional to their levels of engagement. Consequently, location appears to be the the most important factor for sophomores in persistence. (ACUHO-I, 2021)

Juniors and Seniors

Juniors and seniors continue to benefit from the convenience of living on campus over the course of their academic careers and may experience positive impacts depending on the distance to home and the ability to live off-site. Everything that the campus offers remains at their fingertips and allows them to maintain and deepen relationships and academic and social experiences throughout the entirety of their college careers.

In order to be and remain eligible for housing, all continuing students must:

  • be admitted to A&M-San Antonio,
  • live 40+ miles from the university
  • submit a housing application,
  • paid a $200 reservation fee (through Marketplace), if the student has never lived in on campus housing before
  • have a 2.0 GPA and be in good academic standing,
  • is classified as rising sophomore or junior, and
  • be registered full-time by August 4, 2025
    • 12+ hours for undergraduate students and 6+ hours for graduate students
    • After this date, spaces may be opened to other students. Unregistered/under-registered students will be moved onto a waitlist until their registration commitments are fulfilled. Housing is not guaranteed for those who are waitlisted.

NOTE: Seniors must submit an exception request due to limited housing capacity on campus. An exception is not guaranteed. An approved exception does not guarantee housing. You must still submit an application. Submit requests here: Exception Request Form

Because space is limited, on-campus housing is not guaranteed until both the student and the University sign the lease contract, fully executing the agreement.
