Eligibility, Requirements & Award Nominations

The Office of First-Year Experience will celebrate the achievements of first-year students through a special Cording Ceremony, recognizing their dedication and engagement during their first year of college. Students who successfully earn a grade of C or higher in their First-Year Seminar and actively participate in at least two out of the four PROWL activities with a Peer Leader will be honored with a graduation cord and a certificate. This distinction highlights their commitment to academic success and campus involvement.

Additionally, a campus-wide request will be sent out for nominations for first-year awards, further acknowledging outstanding students who have demonstrated exceptional leadership, perseverance, and engagement within the First-Year Experience program.These awards aim to celebrate the diverse talents and contributions of first-year students, reinforcing the values of leadership, involvement, and academic success.
