Family Literacy Night

On April 21, 30 students in A&M-SA's literacy master's degree program held a Family Literacy Workshop at Beacon Hill Elementary in San Antonio Independent School District. The workshop was the result of a class project assigned by Associate Professor of Literacy Jenny Wilson, Ph.D. As part of the assignment criteria, all funds for the workshop had to be raised by the students.

The public event was designed to increase literacy development for local children and their families. The A&M-SA graduate students led numerous children's reading activities and parent sessions on topics including Homework Advice, Early Childhood Development and Motivational Ideas.
