Testing Center

The ACT-Residual Test will not be offered at the Texas A&M-San Antonio Testing Center after September 30, 2022.

The ACT-Residual Test is an acceptable alternative for students who plan to attend Texas A&M-San Antonio and were unable to seat for the SAT or ACT on a nationally scheduled test date.  The scores from this test are accepted for admissions purposes only at A&M-SA and cannot be used at another institution.  The ACT-Residual is only valid at the school where it is taken and recorded.  Candidates are unable to use their ACT-Residual scores for NCAA eligibility, to apply for some scholarships, or to determine college-readiness.  Students who take the ACT-Residual at Texas A&M-San Antonio will still have to take the TSI Assessment to verify college-readiness.

The ACT-Residual is offered on a limited basis.  It is not given on national or University holidays, or during any other University break.  Those interested in taking the ACT-Residual should contact the Testing Center. 

Candidates must schedule an appointment online (below), at least 2 days prior to the test date.  Payment is required during the registration process.  Seating and materials are limited and appointments are available on a first come, first serve basis.  ACT limits the number of testing times per individual to 12 in a lifetime, both National and Residual combined.  The retest policy for ACT-Residual testing is a minimum of 60 days, but candidates may take the National ACT immediately.  If the retest restrictions are violated, the retest scores will be canceled automatically without refund.

Please report to the testing site at least 20 to 30 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment with a valid government or state photo ID.  A basic calculator is permitted, but not necessary, and candidates may supply their own or borrow one from the Testing Center.  Programmable, printing, and QWERTY keyboard calculators are not permitted. 

Scores are not immediately available.  Within 5 to 7 business days of testing, the results will be available to view through Self-Service or candidates can contact the Call Center.  In addition, the Office of Admissions will send a decision letter.
