Placement Exams
Texas A&M-San Antonio Testing Center offers the ACCUPLACER placement exam for A&M-SA students and non-A&M-SA Students for admissions to the Texas Teacher Certification Program. The ACCUPLACER placement exam is a series of computerized tests that determines your knowledge in math, reading, and writing and is used to determine your college-level readiness.
There is a $25 fee for all students who are taking all sections of the ACCUPLACER placement exam and $10 per section for retakes (reading, math, writing, and essay).
Students must bring with them a government or state issued, valid ID and their receipt of payment.
After each exam, the scores are printed and put in a sealed envelope for the student to take with them when they leave.
It is the student’s responsibility to schedule their testing date online at least 12 hours before their desired date and time.
Placement exams are offered Monday - Friday by appointment at 8:30 a.m. and Saturday at 9 a.m. (please call for Saturday availability). Walk-in hours are available Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Wednesday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Walk-ins are done on a first-come first-serve basis, as space becomes available. Students must complete their exam at least 15 minutes before the Testing Center closes. Please call the Testing Center for current hours of operations. The placement exam must be taken in one sitting. Examinees will not be allowed to leave the testing room.
